What We're Looking For
We welcome submissions that explore family history through compelling storytelling as well as storyteller craft. Story submissions must be about the author's own ancestors or individuals to whom the author has a significant personal, family, or lineal connection. We are especially interested in:
- Narrative family history stories (ancestor profiles, themed stories) drawn from your own family research
- Pieces that highlight underrepresented voices and communities in genealogy
- Storyteller's Craft articles on how to write, publish, or make family history findable and preservable
What We Do Not Accept
- Story submissions about individuals to whom the author has no personal, family or lineal connection
- Content that features or identifies living individuals as subjects
- Previously published content in another print magazine (Substack posts are welcome — see reprint policy below)
- AI-generated content submitted as original work
